About Us

Re-Instate is a charity working to improve employment opportunities, quality of life and well-being for disadvantaged people including people experiencing mental ill health, people with learning disabilities and young people. A key part of the vision for Re-Instate is the provision of employment services that build sustainable recovery for people experiencing mental ill-health.

Re-Instate Board of Trustees

Adam Bassant – Board Consultant

Adam Lives in Dartford, and works as a Site Director for a large food manufacturer. He has over 20 years’ experience in senior management positions, specialising in change management and operational excellence. Adam has been involved with Re-Instate for five years offering strategic support (and has been known to sit in a bath of beans at 4am for fundraising purposes). Adam supports West Ham United (although we don’t hold this against him!).

Jenny McPherson – Chair of the Trustee Board

Jenny is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Mental Health. She has been involved with the organisation for four years, initially referring clients into the service. She has recently been helping us develop our young peoples services and supporting funding bids. Jenny has two children and lives locally.

Beth Rice – Chief Executive

Beth Rice – Chief ExecutiveI moved to London 17 years ago to join Scope’s Fast-Track Graduate Development Programme for disabled people. After working in HR and Organisation Development for corporate organisations, I moved to The Department of Health and later joined Scope as their National Leadership Manager. I took a career break to foster children and young people experiencing mental ill-health before joining Re-Instate five years ago. My specialist area is employment law and job retention. I am trained in IPS, advanced job retention and EUSE. I have recently gained a mental health qualification through the Grimsby Institute. I have three rescue dogs and an 8 year old ex battery hen.   

Zoe Sinclaire – Community Hub Manager

I am a local girl, raised in and around Bexley. I have been together with my Husband for 18 years and we have four grown up children. I have a French bulldog called Louie who is my surrogate son. I joined the Re-Instate team in July 2014 and I now oversee Re-Instates new Community Hub and Social Enterprise .I support Basils refreshment centre team named after Re-Instates founder ‘Basil Huett’.I co-ordinate Project Sunflower, which supports our clients with learning disabilities into work, training and volunteering roles.

I have qualifications in Mental Health, Health & Social Care, and working with people with learning disabilities through the Grimsby Institute, and I am trained in Individual Placement and Support (IPS), a model of supported employment. 

 

 

Simon Hart – Head of Employment and Skills

Simon Hart Business ManagerI was born and raised in Darlington, County Durham. After completing a Business degree in Hull, I moved south to Erith and joined The McNaughton Paper Group as a Buyer. I stayed there for 19 years, becoming Purchasing and Supply manager in 1998. After 2005, I began to lose my sight, and was registered blind in 2008. I joined the staff team in June 2013. I am trained in Mental Health First Aid and IPS.

Nicola Taylor – W-rap Project Manager

nicola taylor picI am one of the lucky ones, I was born in South East London. After working for many years as an IT manager for city law firms I decided to start my own business which I run from an office in my garden. It is still hard work but the commute is less. Running my own business got me interested in the W-rap project, and in the summer of 2016 I joined as Project Manager for this brilliant social enterprise project. When you do something that you love every day goes quickly!  

Donna Baker – Book-Keeper and Social Group Co-ordinator

I spent my childhood in Lewisham, South London until I married and then moved to Erith. I completed my AAT Accountancy Qualifications whilst working as a  Finance Manager. I heard of Re-Instate through my neighbour and started volunteering in my spare time. My love for the organisation developed and it was in May 2014 that I joined as a staff member as the Company’s Book-keeper.

Kevin Winch-Project Manager

Kevin Winch Employment Development CoordinatorI hail from South East London. After more than 30 years spent at Associated Newspapers in a variety of roles, before being made redundant in 2012. After a number of short –term roles, including Self-employed sports coach, I started as a volunteer with Re-Instate, before being employed in the Social Enterprise, and then as an Employment Development Co-ordinator at the start of 2014. I have a fantastic family including a son and daughter who I’m glad to say active in sports and further education. I get great joy personally from encouraging others to develop and find those hidden skills that we all have. I am trained in  IPS, Job Retention and Advanced Job Retention. I have just started studying for a mental health qualification through Grimsby University.  

Maria Price-Community Hub Assistant

I grew up in and around Greenwich. I spent a few years working in London’s West End before moving to Scotland where I spent over nine years on the small Island of Benbecula. I am a qualified Holistic Therapist and my main area of interest is nutrition and well-being. I supervise Basil’s, our refreshment space and am studying with the Grimsby Institute for  a qualification in mental health.

Alex Newson - Employment Development Co-ordinator

I have lived in and around Bexley my whole life. I undertook a Traineeship through Re-Instates training partner, The Learning Centre Bexley in early 2015. I worked with Re-Instate for six weeks, which was a fun and enjoyable experience. I was then offered an Apprenticeship, which I successfully completed. I now work as an Employment Development Co-ordinator and am trained in IPS and BASE (British Association of Supported Employment). I am due to complete my BASE accreditation in September 2016 and will then begin a course in Mental Health and Psychology through Grimsby University.

Dildeep Gabhri – Employment Group Facilitator

Born and raised in and around Erith/Bexleyheath, I achieved a BSc (hons) in Computer Science dilat Brunel University. I worked in the online marketing industry, managing international markets and in business development then moved to Germany to pursue a new opportunity, where I lived for 3 years.  I may have learned more about the finer points about German beer than the language but I enjoyed every moment there.  Before coming back home to London I took 4 months out to backpack around South East Asia on a shoestring budget, learning about the local cultures and customs.I enjoy all active sports and have started cycling and running recently with the aim to complete some events soon. A technology enthusiast by heart, I also enjoy all the other sciences.
