The Employment Service

Re-Instate / The Employment Service

The Employment Service works in partnership with Mind in Bexley and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, to provide a Recovery and Well-being Service to people in the London Borough of Bexley, who are experiencing mental ill-health. The service is funded by Bexley Council and Bexley Clinical Commissioning Group.

The Employment Service has evolved to incorporate the best parts of the IPS (Individual, Placement and Support) model to provide a broad range of employment support. This focuses on clients accessing and retaining competitive employment, volunteering roles, training or educational opportunities.

We understand that employment is a key part of maintaining mental well-being and we can offer support to you at any point along your journey.

The support from our employment specialists will offer a tailored service to the

 individual, but can include:

  • A vocational profile – Looking at key skills, attributes, aspirations and difficulties you might face in employment. Focusing on what you can do rather than what you cannot do.
  • Finding volunteering opportunities within the local community to gain new skills and knowledge.
  • Training, learning and development opportunities within Re-Instate or partner providers. Including courses such as IT4work, Food Hygiene Level 1 & 2, and many more.
  • Job searching and job club where we help on a 1:1 or in a group setting on how to complete job applications, cover letters and CV’s. The Employment Service run Job Club on a Tuesday Morning between 10.30am and 12.30pm. If you are interested in attending, please speak with your employment advisor.
  • Preparing individuals for work with our CV, interview skills, confidence building and employment briefing workshops. We also connect with providers to offer workshops such as financial support & general welfare information.
  • Job retention for people who need support and advice to stay in employment and ensuring both the client and employer are supported to ensure a successful outcome. This will include 1:1 with all parties.

“The Job club is a great service! I have received help on many different aspects and managed through this to build up my confidence.”

Outreach is an important part of our services, we work closely with our local NHS Provider (Oxleas) and the BVSC (Bexley Voluntary Service Council). We attend provider groups both statutory and voluntary to insure we can support clients with the most up-to-date employment support.
